Overview
Join JA-YE Europe’s online JA Titan European Challenge 2008 (EC 2008) and see how effective your students are at managing a business. The contest will commence on 13 December 2007. The top 8 teams of the business simulation will compete on-line in the final round of the Contest on 5 April 2008.
JA Titan European Challenge 2008 Participants
- JA-YE students born in 1988 or younger
- Each JA-YE organisation may further limit the age of participants according to the local needs

Timeframe
- Registration Phase 1 (registration of the teams collected by JA-YE offices) –through
8 December 2007 (sample form will be distributed to JA-YE offices during the week of 19 November).
- Registration Phase 2 (continued Registration Phase 1 – collecting registrations of the teams by JA-YE offices, and initial data of the teams entered into competition system by JA-YE offices) (login for on-line registration will be sent to JA-YE offices ONLY – NO direct registration of teams allowed) through 8 December 2007 (registration system will be closed and there is no possibility to register more teams after 8 December).
- Round One – starts on 13 December 2007 (Reports for Period 0 distributed) and runs through 28 January 2008 (Reports for Period 7 distributed). Two decisions per week.
- Round Two – starts on 4 February 2008 (Reports for Period 0 distributed) and runs through 3 March 2008 (Reports for Period 7 distributed). Two decisions per week.
- Round Three (national one-day on-line finals) – 15 March 2008 (tentative date).
- One-day on-line semi-finals (best team of each participating JA-YE organisation) – 29 March 2008 (tentative date).
- Final Round – one-day on-line finals 5 April 2008 (tentative date).
Method
- Teams will be divided into national divisions (one division for each JA-YE organization / country). Each national division competes separately from other divisions up until the semi-finals.
- After two elimination rounds, the best team of each national division proceeds to the On-Line European Semi-Finals.
- Top 8 teams of the On-Line European Semi-Finals proceed to the On-Line European Finals.
- The highest MPI in the groups at the end of Period 7 or the last Period of a round will determine the winner.
- In case of tiered MPI results, a team with higher retained earnings at the end of Period 7 or the last Period of a round will determine the winner.
- The number of proceeding teams from one round to the following one will be specified in the Rules and updated in the first issue of EC News of each round. The teams will be randomly allocated (or re-allocated) into groups.
EC News
- EC News is a news source that is published on the Contest website regularly throughout the Contest. It features trends and events that affect market conditions. Participants are encouraged to use this information to make good business decisions.

- Support tools are offered, through the website of JA Worldwide®, to all participants who compete in the EC 2008. To view these tools, click on "Tips & Tools" link on the right-side menu or visit the JA Worldwide® website.
Teams
- You can form your own team of 2 – 30 members. Two members are to be assigned by each team to represent the team in communication with the EC Administrator

- The top three teams win cash prizes.
